Heinkel115
Five Heinkel 115 seaplanes were shot down on Sunday 14 May 1944
by British fighter planes.
They were sunk as they taxied on the water and during takeoff.
The remains of two of the seaplanes can still be seen in this dive.
This type of aircraft was in service during the Second World War as a reconnaissance plane, torpedo bomber and minelayer, and was produced by Heinkel before and during the war.
It had a wingspan of 22 metres, was 17.3 metres long and had a net weight of 5,300 kgs.
